Properties and Applications

Basic type stainless steel electrode with high recovery, which is used for welding of approx. 13% Cr containing stainless and heat resistant chromium steels or cast steels. Deposits martensitic stainless steel weld metal. Also suitable for corrosion and abrasion resistant surfacing of contact surfaces of gas, water and steam fan, fan blades and fittings subjected to operating temperatures up to 450°C. Weld metal is non-scaling up to 850°C. Use with DCEP. Depending on type of base metal and wall thickness, preheating and interpass temperatures from 100 to 400°C and tempering at 650 to 750°C are advisable.
